The friendly skies aren’t so friendly anymore…
There’s been more than enough in-flight problems in the past two years to last a lifetime, and it doesn’t seem to be going away any time soon.
Whether it’s drunks flying off the handle, people getting duct-taped to seats, clowns who can’t follow the rules, or dudes literally throwing haymakers in the aisles, it’s been anarchy up at 30,000 feet.
But this latest one might be the most bizarre.
According to NBC News, this drunk dude on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City was arrested for causing a disturbance on the plane.
Witnesses said he started out by yelling at a lady for standing up, which turned into him snarling at the flight crew like a lunatic and finishing up with some bizarre rant about Joe Biden and America.
“He began by yelling at the Asian woman in front of me to sit down when she was standing to deal with a back issue.
He proceeded to tell multiple flight attendants that she and her companion ‘didn’t belong here.’ After asking him to calm down the man went into a complete meltdown of racist, sexist and belligerent comments, culminating in his arrest at the gate.
We were lucky to have such a well-trained crew who kept their cool throughout the flight.”
I mean, I can’t count the number of times I’ve been shit-faced on a plane, but I never acted like this. It seems like this is just par for the course these days…
Also, just a thought… maybe if we started serving booze on the actual airplane again, people wouldn’t get obliterated before it takes off. I know American Airlines isn’t slinging those mini airplane bottles anymore, but maybe we could all use a little something to take the edge off up there, eh?
Either way, lucky for him they didn’t need to break out the duct tape…
Upon arrival, the 61-year-old man was cited for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
