VIDEO: Guy Filleting A Catfish Finds Huge Cottonmouth Snake Inside

Fileting catfish

The stomach of a catfish is kind of like a box of chocolates in that you never know what you’re going to find.

Catfish are not picky eaters. If it’s food… they’ll eat it. If it’s not food, they still might eat it.

People have been know to use bars of soap as bait to catch them since they hunt by scent and will take a bite out of pretty much anything that has an odor. There has been plenty of reports of people finding random objects inside of catfish they fillet in addition to more common things like fish, turtles, rats, etc.

This guy got a pretty startling surprise while he was prepping a catfish for the fryer though when a whopper of a cottonmouth snake fell out of the fish’s gut.

Though the snake was already dead, it was still a spooky surprise for him and the lady holding the camera.

Suddenly having your hands on a venomous snake of that size is not something you anticipate when you’re cleaning a fish and understandably enough to make ya taken aback for a second and give you goosebumps.

I love a good fried catfish sandwich, but I’m not sure I would be able to get over the mental hurdle of eating a fish that was filled with big ole venomous snake like that.
