NYPD Officer Attempts The Viral “Milk Crate Challenge,” Limps Away After Busting His A**

He ALMOST had it…

Instead, all this NYPD officer has, who attempted (and failed) the viral TikTok “Milk Crate Challenge,” is a trip to doctor’s office.

The officer was on active duty when he tried to walk across the stacked milk crates in an effort to go all the way to the other side without falling or knocking any of them over.

The challenge has trended on major social media platforms like TikTok, Twitter and Instagram over the last few days, and has people all over the world sharing videos of themselves attempting the same thing.

Typically, it just ends with the person falling and the crates crumbling beneath them, like what happened here. And, besides the obvious “why” question, I just want to know where these people have so many random milk crates stored?

According to the New York Post, the NYPD responded to the video in a statement by saying:

“We encourage all our officers to engage the community in a positive and proactive manner.”

You can see him sort of limping away at the very end of the video, and judging by that fall, I’m sure he was in a good bit of pain. It looks like he had just a couple more steps to go, but unfortunately, he couldn’t quite hold on before the row he was standing on fell over.

Dr. Shawn Anthony, who is an orthopedic surgeon at Mount Sinai in New York, recently appeared on the “Today” show to encourage people not to participate in this challenge:

“‘The Milk Crate Challenge’ is very dangerous, and we are seeing many orthopedic injuries as a result of the falls.

Injuries can include broken wrists, shoulder dislocations, ACL and meniscus tears, as well as life-threatening conditions like spinal cord injuries.”

You love to see cops out there having fun with the kids in the neighborhood, but yeah… I wouldn’t try this one at home…
