Not only is Red Rocks one of the coolest concert venues out there, it seems to elevate artists to higher levels and has helped produced some of the coolest live videos out there.
From Cody Jinks covering Alan Jackson, to Tyler Childers performing “All Your’n”, to Luke Combs’ then unreleased “1, 2 Many”, and so many others, artists seem to step their game up on the legendary stage.
The Chief is no exception to this rule.
From his 2016 concert at the Morrison, Colorado venue, Eric Church performed one of my all-time favorite songs of his, “Holdin’ My Own” and everything about it is perfection.
And yeah he messed up in the middle there, but even Church forgetting a line in the second verse just gives the song a unique realness and shows that Eric is not faking a damn thing up there on stage. He just smiles and picks in back up, a true professional.
I cannot wait to see him live.
Even though he’s been one of my favorites for years, I’ve somehow never been able to get to one of his concerts.
That will be changing on the Gather Again Tour he’ll be on through the first quarter of next year.
