Jon Randall And Jack Ingram Surprise Fans At Miranda Lambert’s Texas Show, Sing “Geraldene”

Ya never know when The Marfa Tapes trio is going to pop up at a show together.

Last night, they did a pretty awesome live performance of their song “Geraldene” at one of Miranda Lambert’s shows in Texas.

She’s currently doing a two-night run at the Whitewater Music Amphitheater in New Braunfels, and was joined on stage in a surprise appearance by fellow collaborators Jon Randall and Jack Ingram.

They’ve only ever performed the song one other time as a trio (aside from recording the album) a couple months back for a taping of the “Ellen DeGeneres Show”, so it’s cool to see them do it for an actual live audience for the first time.

They’ve pretty much said they don’t plan to go on tour in support of their recent record, so this is probably as close as we’re really gonna get to seeing them play together at a live show.

Miranda mentioned before that this is “a fun one,” and I couldn’t think of a better way to put it.

You can think of “Geraldene” as essentially the little sister to Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” which makes it all the more sassy and scorned… and let’s be honest, it’s kinda what Miranda’s best at.
