According to the BBC News, Hippos are the most dangerous large mammal on earth, killing an estimated 500 people a year.
Hippos have gigantic mouths with huge tusks that are capable of crushing whatever they bite in a single crunch.
Their physical characteristics are absolutely terrifying as well. Hippos can tip the scales at more than 3,000-pounds. Despite their enormous size and stubby little legs, hippos can also run almost 20 mph for short spurts.
They’re also extremely powerful swimmers, as evidence by this terrifying hippo chasing after a boat in the water.
Hippos just might be craziest animal on earth. They’re basically built like a tank, swim like a boat, and have been known to pick fights against crocodiles and win.
