On This Date: George Strait Releases 25th Career Number One, “Easy Come, Easy Go”

George Strait

The number ones may have come easy for The King, but his status as one of the greatest country music artists of all-time isn’t going anywhere.

On August 9th, 1993, George Strait released the title track of his Easy Come, Easy Go album, which went on to be the 25th of his 60 career number ones.

Most artists won’t put out 60 songs, let alone 60 singles that make any type of chart at all, LET ALONE top any of those charts, which just shows again the epic career of the Poteet, Texas native.

Sure seems like he didn’t follow his own mantra of “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time”…

Way more likely than not, we won’t see anyone like George again. So take a sip of Código, turn it up and enjoy the greatness.
