The second-winningest coach in Division I college football history has passed away.
At the age of 91, legendary Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden has died.
It was revealed that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer back in July. Bowden announced the condition as a terminal illness, but said that he was at peace:
“I’ve always tried to serve God’s purpose for my life, on and off the field, and I am prepared for what is to come. My wife Ann and our family have been life’s greatest blessing. I am at peace.”
Second only to Joe Paterno in NCAA Division I wins, Bowden won two National Championships and 12 ACC titles on his way to a 315-98-4 record as a college football coach.
The Alabama native coached at his alma mater Howard College (now Samford), West Virginia and Florida State in his 40 year career. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.

No doubt about it, he was one of the best to ever do it.
RIP Bobby.
