Whitey Morgan Is The King Of Phenomenal Covers

HOT TAKE ALERT.

Alright look, I know Chris Stapleton is pretty much the cat’s ass when it comes to covering songs, and with that voice, you’d be hard pressed to argue with it.

Just a quick look at his discography and you see covers of Willie Nelson, George Jones/David Allan Coe, Charlie Daniels, Guy Clark, John Fogerty and more.

BUT… if you look at Whitey Morgan’s, he takes on some CLASSICS… and he absolutely CRUSHES them.

We’re talking Bruce Springsteen, ZZ Top, Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Dale Watson…  just to name a few.

Here’s a few of my favorites:

“Waitin’ Round To Die”  – Townes Van Zandt

“Just Got Paid” – ZZ Top

“I’m On Fire” – Bruce Springsteen

“Dead Flowers” – The Rolling Stones

“That’s How I Got To Memphis” – Tom T. Hall
