Everyday I’m reminded that there are some sick individuals in this world.
There’s nothing more heartbreaking than seeing a good boy walking up and down the side of the road. It always has me thinking one of two things…
“Do the owners not give a shit about what their dog does?”
or
“Did the poor dog get abandoned?”
You seriously can’t help but wonder.
I recent video went viral for all of the wrong reasons, as a Texas family was filmed dropping off their husky on the side of the road last Wednesday, and driving off as the dog chased the car from behind, confused as to what was going on.
According to The El Paso Times, the suspect was identified as 68-year-old Luis Antonio Campos and was taken into custody, charged with animal cruelty for abandoning the dog in Horizon City, Texas.
If this video doesn’t get you in your feelings, you must not have a pulse, or you hate dogs.
I mean how could somebody do this? Is it really that hard to take the poor dog to an animal shelter? Or simply list the dog as for sale? You don’t leave the dog on the side of the road, risking the safety of the poor thing. It’s simply inhumane.
There’s a special place in hell for these kind of people, BUT, there is good news.
The pup, a 10-month-old husky, was picked up by Pawsitive Rescuers, a local animal rescue agency in El Paso. Working with Huckleberry Hound Dog Rescue, they were able to get this good boy adopted in less than 24 hours.
His new name? Nanook.
