In a very unfortunate and tragic accident over the weekend at the Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, Michigan, three men were found dead in their trailer at a campground in Woodstock Township around 1:27 Saturday afternoon.

According to a statement from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s office, two more are still in critical condition. They also stated that all three males were in their early 20s and were pronounced dead at the scene due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

The festival ran this weekend from Friday until today, and included headliners like Jason Aldean, Luke Combs, and Thomas Rhett.

The rest of the lineup included Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Gabby Barrett, Russell Dickerson, Riley Green, HARDY, Chris Lane, Tracy Lawrence, David Lee Murphy, Jon Pardi, Carly Pearce, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Dee Jay Silver and more.

The Lenawee Sheriff’s office also confirmed in their statement that a friend of the males involved in the tragic accident was the one who called to alert police after he hadn’t heard from any of them for a while:

“According to Sheriff Investigators, the caller was a friend of the five males and became concerned when he had not heard from them.

This tragic incident is being investigated as a suspected carbon monoxide exposure from a generator located very near the travel trailer.”

They stressed the importance of keeping generators at a safe distance from camping areas as well as tents and trailers.

Unrelated to the carbon monoxide poisoning, a woman identified as Melissa Donna Havens was also found dead at Faster Horses Festival.

Police are currently investigating the cause of death, however they have described a person of interest that she was recently seen with.

Faster Horses Festival has yet to comment on either of these awful tragedies.
