How has it already been a year since we lost Charlie Daniels?
The long haired country boy, the fiddling legend, passed away from a stroke one year ago today, on July 6, 2020.
And today, the country music world is taking to Twitter to share their memories and pay tribute to the legend – and more importantly, their friend.
Travis Tritt, who has said Daniels was like “a mentor, a father figure, an inspiration, and the ultimate encourager,” shared some pictures of the two together.
Remembering my dear friend and mentor @CharlieDaniels today. Sadly, we lost Charlie one year ago on 7/6/2020. Still think of him and miss him every single day. So thankful for the friendship we shared for over three decades! pic.twitter.com/am4bAys5BV

Travis has shared memories of touring with Charlie, including the pranks that they pulled on each other during their time on the road together. And he’s also talked about how Charlie helped him out when Travis was an up-and-coming artist, like giving Travis his cell phone number, and opening up his own dressing room at a show when Travis and his band were stuck in a broom closet.
And after Charlie passed, Travis performed a teary-eyed version of “Amazing Grace” at his late friend’s memorial service.
But Travis is far from the only one paying tribute to Charlie on the anniversary of his death. Alabama, Randy Travis, John Rich and the Oak Ridge Boys have all taken to Twitter to remember Charlie today.
One year ago today we lost CHARLIE DANIELS … a Patriot and a man of God … America misses you Charlie… until the day … We KNOW where you are…
