Jason Isbell Covers Johnny Cash’s 1974 Trucking Anthem “All I Do Is Drive”

I’m loving all these country covers from the The Ice Road movie soundtrack.

The Netflix film starring Liam Neeson features tons of great ones, including Carly Pearce’s version of Kathy Mattea’s “Eighteen Wheels and A Dozen Roses ”, Miranda Lambert’s version of Hank Snow’s “I’m Movin’ On”, and the great Jason Isbell even covered Johnny Cash.

Jason sang Johnny’s 1974 song “All I Do Is Drive” from his record Ragged Old Flag. It’s essentially a trucking anthem about what it’s really like to be a driver and how hard that lifestyle can be.

It’s a bit of a different tune for Jason, but I love hearing his rollicking version of this classic song.

Jason’s also set to appear in the upcoming Martin Scorsese project Killers of the Flower Moon with fellow country star Sturgill Simpson.
