Nothing like a little 2.5 mile walk on raceday to get the blood pumping.

And one fan got his steps in early this morning when he got to walk a lap around Pocono Raceway ahead of today’s race.

NASCAR fan Eric Webler has been on a weight loss journey for the last 6 months, dropping 50 lbs through walking and getting more active.

And since he’s been going to races at Pocono since he was 10 years old, Eric had a special request ahead of the green flag on Sunday: He wanted to walk a lap around the track.

Well his request caught the attention of Mike Forde, the Director of Racing Communications for NASCAR, who was able to set Eric up to walk a lap around the track.

But it also caught the attention of Xfinity series driver Noah Gragson, who asked if he could join.

So when it came time for Eric to take to the track, he was joined not only by Gragson, but also by Gragson’s team owner, a guy named Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Not exactly your typical walk through the scenery of the Pocono Mountains, but for a NASCAR fan, you gotta think it’s hard to beat that view.

Man, when I go to NASCAR races I’m exhausted just from walking between my seats and the concession stand to get a beer.

Good for Eric, and good luck to him on the rest of his weight loss journey.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to sit on my ass and eat pizza while I watch the second half of this weekend’s Pocono doubleheader.
