Throwback To Parker McCollum Covering Morgan Wallen’s “More Than My Hometown” Last Year

I’m here to say that if Morgan Wallen, Koe Wetzel and Hardy actually do an EP together, Parker McCollum 100% needs to be a part of it too.

Parker did his own cover of Morgan’s song “More Than My Hometown” last year and he definitely put his own spin on it.

I think Parker has a super unique voice within the country music landscape, so it’s cool to hear him cover Morgan, who is arguably the biggest thing in country music right now despite everything he’s been through.

Morgan released this track as the lead-off single to his 2021 Dangerous: The Double Album and co-wrote it alongside frequent collaborators in Hardy, Ernest, and Ryan Vojtesak.

“More Than My Hometown” ended up being a #1 single for Morgan on the US Billboard Country Airplay charts, but was subsequently removed from rotation (along with all of his other stuff) after radio stations nationwide banned his music earlier this year.

It appears as though he’s quietly being added back in to radio rotation, but as of right now Morgan hasn’t released any further information in regards to a new single.

(He did, however, recently share a video to his social media showing himself in the studio with Hardy).

Parker’s done his own rendition of plenty of other country songs, like Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over” and the incredible Turnpike Troubadors song “Good Lord Lorrie”, so you can just go ahead add this one to the list of great covers coming from Parker.

And of course, here’s the original:
