Almost two months after Brothers Osborne released their empowering song “Younger Me,” we now have the music video to go along with it.
The song was inspired by the support lead singer TJ Osborne received after coming out as gay earlier this year:
I’ve always wished I could speak to my younger self, give him a hug and show him who he’d become and what he’d achieve. Once I came out, that feeling was so overwhelmingly strong that this song was born and the time to share it is now. -TJhttps://t.co/olJ4mDNWUCpic.twitter.com/0a7JmDTtol
“Younger Me” is a hopeful message from TJ to his younger self, and to all of those who have grown up feeling different and alienated from everybody else, letting them know that the times are changing and it’s all gonna be alright.
“Younger me Hanging out but not quite fitting in Didn’t know that being different Really wouldn’t be the end Younger me”
The black-and-white video features a number of children, many of whom probably feel the same way TJ did when he was younger.
