Kacey Musgraves And Harry Styles Duet Shania Twain’s 1998 Hit “You’re Still The One”

All this talk about Shania Twain’s new album coming out this year has me all sorts of excited.

Between that and her Las Vegas residency starting back up in December, she’s got a lot to look forward to. And, in the spirit of that, I want to go back to the year 2018… to the time Kacey Musgraves went on tour with Harry Styles (and no, I’m not a “Directioner”… I actually had to look that up).

How exactly does that have anything to do with Shania, you may ask? Well, on a tour stop at Madison Square Garden in June of 2018, the two of them did a duet of Shania’s 1998 top-ten hit “You’re Still The One”.

The song was her first single released to both pop and country radio, and became a massive crossover hit, peaking at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Shania wrote it alongside her then-husband Robert “Mutt” Lange as a sort of protest.

The couple had a 17 year age difference, and she was often criticized for it and accused of only using him to further her career, seeing as he was her producer at the time. So, they penned the song to prove to everyone that they loved each other regardless of their professional relationship.

Ultimately, they did divorce in 2010…

Harry, the former member of boy band One Direction and now a pop superstar in his own right, introduced the song as “one of [his] personal favorites.”

While it’s probably unexpected song choice from Harry, I love their angelic rendition and how they turned it into a duet:
