Willie Nelson And Barbra Streisand Team Up For Duet Of “I’d Want It To Be You”

Better late than never.

Willie Nelson and Barbra Streisand finally teamed up for a duet of “I’d Want It To Be You”.

It was supposed to be on her 2014 album Partners, which was an entire record made up of duets with other male artists. Due to timing issues surrounding the albums release, Blake Shelton stepped in and ultimately, he was featured on the original song.

Barbra and Willie make quite a pair seeing as their both icons in their respective musical genres, and the duet is actually quite charming. Willie even drops references to some of his own songs including “On The Road Again” and “Always On My Mind”:

“[Barbra And Willie]
If I had the choice of only one friend in this world
You know that I’d want it to be you
[Willie]
When I get on the road again
You’ll be always on my mind

[Barbra]
We’ll stay the way we were forever true
[Barbra And Willie]
There’s no one in this world
That’s been a better friend to me than you”

Willie previously released an album of all-female duets himself in 2013 called To All the Girls… which featured songs with Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn, Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris and more.

This particular song was written by Stephen Dorff, Jay I. Landers and Bobby Tomberlin, and is set to be included on Barbra’s upcoming album, Release Me 2 that comes out in August.
