Gary Allan Releases “SEX,” An Ode To…Well, You Know

Not exactly subtle with this one, eh Gary?

For the latest track from his upcoming album, Ruthless, Gary Allan has released the cheeky “SEX,” which is about…well, sex.

“It turns love into drama
It turns girls into mamas
Yeah, that first time won’t ever let you forget
Wouldn’t be here without it
We don’t like to talk about it
Sometimes we spell it out
It’s just an s
It’s just an e
It’s just an ex, calling up in the middle of the night
Sometimes it’s wrong, sometimes it’s right
Even at it’s worse, it’s still the best.”

There are a lot of country songs that allude to sex without actually spelling it out for you. But with this one, he quite literally spells it out for you.

Written by Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally and Matt Jenkins, “SEX” is the fourth cut from the new album that Gary’s released so far.

And while this one is a far cry from “Smoke Rings in the Dark” or “Right Where I Need to Be,” it’s just nice to finally get new music from Gary Allan, who hasn’t released a full-length album since 2013.

Here’s the video, so you don’t have to Google “Gary Allan SEX” like I did.

And here are some of the other songs he’s released from the upcoming album, which is set to be released on June 25.
