I Just Realized Dwight Yoakam Is The Divorced Guy In The Beginning Of ‘Wedding Crashers’

Dwight Yoakam in a suit and tie

I have an embarrassing confession…

I was today years old when I realized that Dwight Yoakam plays the divorced guy, Mr. Kroeger, in the opening scene of Wedding Crashers.

I mean, I know what Dwight Yoakam looks like, I’ve seen Wedding Crashers upwards of a hundred times and I just never made the connection. I can quote that scene word for word, and never made the connection.

Is it the hat (or lack thereof) that threw me off? Am I just a total fucking idiot? It’s probably a bit of both honestly, but either way, my mind was, and still is, blown.

Naturally, I went to Twitter to make sure I’m not completely alone in this, but lo and behold, I pretty much am…

Sure, there were plenty of folks that were late to the game, but most of them figured it out by 2018…

Me on the other hand, I found this out a few days ago during a podcast with Drew Parker.

And what an electric scene by the way, sets the tone for the entire movie.

The Wedding Crashers Sequel

And what perfect timing as it was just officially confirmed that the Wedding Crashers sequel is set to begin production this coming August.

Featuring Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Isla Fisher and Rachel McAdams, the core main cast is set to reprise their roles for the next chapter, but I gotta say, there is whole ton of star power that needs to be in there too.

Can we get Bradley Cooper to pop back in for a scene, Dwight make a quick cameo?

And you BETTER have Christopher Walken…

Dwight Yoakam The Actor

Dwight though… he’s actually been in a ton of movies.

From Red Rock West, his film debut in 1992, all the way to the upcoming Clint Eastwood film Cry Macho, he’s had quote the acting career in addition to music.

Here’s a few of his best:

Slingblade

Don’t Look Back

Crank

And once again with Vince Vaughn in Four Christmases.

Which I also just painfully realized today…)
