Flatland Cavalry Does It Again With New Middle Class Anthem, “Gettin’ By”

Fernando Garcia

Flatland Cavalry does not miss.

With the release of their new song, “Gettin’ By,” fans are treated to latest installment from their highly-anticipated, upcoming studio album, Welcome To Countryland.

A follow up to lead single, “Some Things Never Change,” “Gettin’ By” is an ode to the hard-working folks of middle America who, rooted in the values that make this country great, are striving to give their families a little more than they had growing up.

With food on the table and love in their hearts, it’s an anthem for the folks who are “somewhere in the middle.”

Frontman Cleto Cordero recalls the inspiration for writing the song:

“I wrote ‘Gettin’ By’ over a Zoom session with my new pal, Jason Nix. The song is inspired by the story of my parents, who have worked selflessly their entire lives to provide for their children.

Reflecting upon my childhood one day, I placed myself in the shoes of my father and began to wonder just how on earth were they able to raise all SEVEN of their children; seeing to it that we were always fed, clothed and sheltered… we lacked no such thing.

I found that our family was established upon grace, hope, faithfulness, thankfulness, family, hard work and love. The song celebrates all the beautiful souls out there working towards their lofty dream while enjoying each moment of being in ‘The Middle.’”

And, God bless it.

Welcome To Countryland, featuring a Luke Combs cut, a co-write with Lainey Wilson, and duets with both Hailey Whitters and Kaitlin Butts, is set to drop on July 2nd.
