Ok, it just got real.
Jake Paul has been making waves in the boxing world lately, and he’s about to make some more.
Say what you want about him, he hypes a fight better than anybody in the business right now, and even if people are tuning in just hoping to watch him get his ass kicked, they’re still tuning in.
And while his first three fights have been against less than stellar competition, his next target is pretty damn legit.
According to The Athletic’s Mike Coopinger, Jake Paul and former UFC Welterweight Champion, Tyron Woodley, have agreed to terms for a boxing match.
A press conference, featuring Paul and Woodley, will be scheduled for later this week, and is expected to reveal the date and location of the fight.
Jake Paul’s Fight Record
Jake Paul is currently 3-0 with three knockouts, including a rather impressive knockout against former UFC fighter Ben Askren.
Granted, he beat another amateur YouTuber, a retired (and very undersized) NBA player in that of Nate Robinson, and Ben looked very out of shape and also like he didn’t even care to be there.
But hey, 3-0 is 3-0…
Woodley, who was the UFC Welterweight Champ from 2016 to 2019, was in Askren’s corner for that fight.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Tyron said he’d be more than happy to knock his head off.
“Come and get this smoke for real.
I’m in and I can actually fight him. People that keep talking about fighting him, they’re not even in position to fight him. I can actually fight him. I can fight him tomorrow if I want to.”
Jake recently signed a massive fight deal with Showtime so this will most likely be his first fight on Showtime.
I can’t help but think Jake might finally be in over his head with Tyron.
Jake’s brother Logan is set to fight Floyd Mayweather this coming Sunday, June 6th.
