Got some HUGE news coming out of the new NASCAR at COTA race in Austin, Texas.

The inaugural race just announced a couple days ago that Matthew McConaughey will be Grand Marshal, and if that’s not badass enough…

Cody Johnson himself will be handling the National Anthem.

If you know anything about CoJo, there’s one thing for certain: The man loves his country.

So needless to say they couldn’t have picked a better guy to sing the song at the very first race.

Now, the only thing that would make this even better would be if Johnson rode off the track on a horse like he did at the Houston Rodeo a couple years ago.

The race is set to kickoff on Sunday afternoon, May 23rd, at 1:30pm.

Oh yeah, and if you haven’t seen the video of Johnson singing “Dear Rodeo” at the Houston Rodeo and riding out of the arena on a horse, you gotta check it out.

You won’t regret it.

And it wouldn’t be his first “rodeo,” no pun intended.

CoJo has done the national anthem a number of times, both at Rangers and Astros games.
