What a group of Texans.

It’s pretty well-known that Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson are good friends, but back 2015, Kacey was a part of the group that helped pay tribute to the greatness that was Waylon Jennings at a live concert in Austin, Texas, to celebrate his vast catalog of incredible music.

She did an angelic version of Waylon and Willie’s song “The Wurlitzer Prize (I Don’t Want to Get Over You)”, which was the lead single off their 1977 album, Waylon & Willie.

It also became Waylon’s sixth #1 on the country charts. The other two singles from the album included two of his most iconic songs, “Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love)” and “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys”.

The live album from the concert, featuring the likes of other stars in Eric Church and Sturgill Simpson, was officially released in 2017.

I feel like she could’ve slapped this version right in the middle of Golden Hour and it would’ve fit right in…
