Luke Bryan Says COVID Was His Longest Stint Without A Beer

Luke likes his beer.

The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year stopped by Ellen today and was promptly greeted with a cold beer. And right before Ellen whipped out the beer, Luke said his recent bout with COVID was the longest stint he’s had without a beer.

“That is definitely the longest stint without a beer… just a beer in the afternoon…”

I think Luke was about to say that an afternoon beer always hits the spot before Ellen popped up with a frosty mug for Luke.

“Thank you, Ellen… Alright, Ellen, just let me savor. I can still taste it! I have the taste.”

At risk of sounding like a total degenerate, not having a cold beer might actually be the worth thing about being sick. I had mono in college and it laid me up pretty good. I think I spent about 3 months off the sauce, and as a college kid, watching your friends go out and party every night, it was pretty brutal.

So I get it Luke, I get it…

I don’t get how you beat Luke Combs And Eric Church for Entertainer of the Year, but I get that wonderful feeling when you take your first sip of beer after a long drought.

We always talk about shower beers, airport beers, ballpark beers… but that “first beer after being sick beer” is an extremely underrated beer.
