Blake Shelton Laments The Struggles Of His Faith In Emotional New “Bible Verses”

Blake is always good for a gospel song or two.

He released “Jesus Got A Tight Grip” on his most recent album, Full Loaded: God’s Country, and he released another one called “Savior’s Shadow” back on his 2016 album, If I’m Honest.

And today, he’s here with another new one titled “Bible Verses.”

Written by Joe Fox, Andrew Peebles and Brett Sheroky, it’s an encouraging new song about missing the mark when it comes to following your faith. A reminder that… while you may stumble, you’re not alone.

“No matter where you are in your faith, there are times you feel like you just don’t measure up.

‘Bible Verses’ is an honest take on that conflict but, without preaching too much, it’s hopeful that everything will all work out in the end.”

Here’s a taste of the chorus:

“I can open up that good book
And Heaven don’t look
Like it’s out of reach
When it feels like those apostles
Are giving me the gospel
And not the third degree
I just want it to read
Like Bible verses
And not the Bible versus me.”

“Bible Verses” joins “Happy Anywhere” and current single “Minimum Wage” on his upcoming studio album Body Language, due out on May 21st.
