101-Year-Old Mississippi Hunter Harvests Two Deer With One Perfectly Placed Shot

Age is just a number.

Just a few days after her 101st birthday, Bertha Vickers was celebrating the same way she always does… in her hunting blind.

The Mississippi native had a string of bad luck in the days before, missing a few opportunities, but when this big ol’ doe came strolling through, Bertha jumped on her chance.

Back in 2019, Vickers told the Clarion Ledger, that she was hoping for a bigger one:

“I decided to wait for a bigger one. Before long, a bigger doe came out and I shot.”

But little did she know, there were two deer in the line of fire.

“Then I saw two deer on the ground. It shot plum through both of them. They both dropped right there. They didn’t take another step. I knew it was back there, but I didn’t realize it was that close to her where it could get shot.”

And while she got two deer with one shot, she wasn’t that impressed with the haul.

“I don’t know why everybody is making such a big deal about it. If I’d killed a big buck I could see it, but it was just a doe.”

An accident maybe, but still, at 101 years old, harvesting two deer with one shot is pretty damn impressive.

More like 100 years young…
