Colter Wall Covers Kris Kristofferson’s 1971 Tune “Breakdown (A Long Way from Home)”

Kris Kristofferson IS country music.

From his time as a singer, a songwriter, a solo recording artist, and of course his notable time with The Highwaymen alongside Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings, the man has left his irreplaceable mark in the country music world.

With his deep, gritty sound, and captivating songwriting, his music kind of resembles that of Colter Wall today.

So, what better way to get the best of both worlds than Wall covering a Kris Kristofferson song?

Colter recently shared a video performing an acoustic version of Kristofferson’s song, “Breakdown (A Long Way from Home). Written solely by Kristofferson himself, the song appears on his 1971 album The Silver Tongued Devil and I.

Talk about a song that makes you wish you were sitting down by a campfire out west, staring up at the stars. I think we need to start a petition for more Kristofferson covers from Colter… or just more music in general… the man is as gifted as they come in this business.
