Maddie and Tae are back.
After their number one hit “Die From a Broken Heart” in 2019, they released the awesome album The Way It Feels early last year. Since then, we haven’t heard much from them other than their We Need Christmas EP. They’re a super underrated duo and they certainly don’t get the credit they deserve.
From their debut album Start Here in 2014 to now, they’ve done a lot of growing up. They’re both married and moved on to a new chapter of life. They’ve released some stuff here and there, but with just two studio albums under their belt, hopefully this song is the start of more new music from them.
Their newest song, “Woman You Got,” is essentially a love letter to their respective husbands for allowing them to be who they are. Here’s what they said about their new track:
“Our sassy little love song to our hubbies is OUT now! If you’re wild, messy, flawed and ya love like hell… now it’s your sassy little love song too.
This song is the most autobiographical song we have ever written.”
It’s funny and relatable with lyrics like this:
“I lose my phone, can’t hold my liquor,
To a fault, I ain’t a quitter,
I like dogs, I’m a collector,
I ain’t perfect, I’m a perfector.”
We’ve all been there a time or two.
