Broadway Is Buzzin’ As Nashville Allows Bars To Stay Open Until 2 AM

Nashville is just about back to normal.

With 20% of the city vaccinated, Mayor John Cooper once again relaxed COVID restrictions this weekend, allowing bars and restaurants to stay open an extra hour until 2 AM.

Capacity was also increased from 125 people per floor to 175. Patrons are still required to remain seated and wear a mask when they’re standing in a bar or restaurant.

And it looks like folks are taking full advantage of the opportunity to hang out on Broadway a little later.

Holy crowds.

Live shots of Broadway from Friday night show that the street was packed full of eager barhoppers, almost looking like the good ol’ days before the pandemic. Of course with bars still limiting capacity, the result is huge crowds on the streets and long lines to get into some (most) places.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love seeing people coming back to Nashville and businesses able to get back to something more closely resembling normal. I even went to Broadway myself for a few minutes last weekend.

But holy shit, those crowds look like my own personal hell.

Waiting in line for 2 hours surrounded by a bunch of drunk bachelorette parties to get into Jason Aldean’s and hear a shitty cover of “Hit Me With Your Best Shot?” No fucking thanks.

The good news for folks who are into this sort of thing though…

Broadway is BACK.
