Matthew McConaughey’s “We’re Texas” Campaign Raises Nearly $8 Million (And Counting)

Matthew McConaughey for President…. am I right?

I mean sheesh, him and his wife Camila really know how to bring the country together for a great cause.

In case you don’t know by now, McConaughey and his wife created a “We’re Texas” virtual benefit concert to raise money for the state after the horrendous snow storm back in February.

Several celebrities and singers spoke and played during the concert, with Post Malone stealing the night by DESTROYING Brad Paisley’s “I’m Gonna Miss Her” and Sturgill Simpson’s “You Can Have The Crown.”

And as a result, people have taken up another cause…

Anyways… Mr. Alright Alright Alright asked the people of America to step up, and they did in a HUGE way. The campaign was a huge success, raising $7.7 million according to Deadline, and all of the money goes directly to repairs, water, and those who’ve been physically hurt from the storm.

Way to go Mr. McConaughey, that’s a job well done. You have to respect a guy who loves his home state and its people so much, that he would gather some of the biggest names in America for a concert and give it back to the place he calls home.

And just in case you still haven’t seen the video of Posty killing some country music, be sure to check it out.

You won’t regret it.
