Tiger Woods has had an eventful past month.

He is currently in recovery from a brutal single-car accident in Los Angeles back on February 24. Luckily, none of the injuries was life-threatening and he’s on the mend, but now, he’s coming out with some incredible news for golf fans and video game fans alike.

Woods announced today that he is partnering with 2K sports for a new Tiger Woods golf video game. With this partnership, it means that Woods’ name and likeliness will be used all throughout the game.

For those of you sports video game fans, ya’ll remember the good ol’ days between 1999 and 2013 when you could play as Tiger Woods and several other PGA golfers on Tiger’s EA Sports golf video game.

Personally, I was sad to see EA Sports and Tiger’s partnership come to a close, but now we get to have a taste of playing as Tiger Woods with his iconic Sunday red shirt once again.

Woods issued a statement on the new partnership:

“I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape, and with 2K and HB Studios, I’ve found the right partners to make it happen.

I’m honored to take part in this opportunity and look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together.”

FIRE ME UP.

HB Studio’s released PGA Tour 2K21 last year and has sold 2 million games to date. If you think that game had success, just wait until they throw Tiger’s name in the mix.
