Miranda Lambert, Jon Randall & Jack Ingram Release Raw, ‘Marfa Tapes’ Version of “Tin Man”

If you asked me to name the best song I’ve heard in the past 10 years, “Tin Min” would be on my short list.

Written by Miranda Lambert, Jon Randall and Jack Ingram, it was released as the third single from her stellar double album The Weight Of These Wings in 2017. It failed to crack the top 20 on the country radio charts (because country radio is bullshit), but it was nominated for two Grammys.

And today, Miranda, Jack and Jon have released their stripped down, raw, Marfa Tapes version of the song, somehow managing to give it even more of that beautiful Miranda Lambert angst. The sheer vulnerability of the song is amplified even more when you peel it back, and the sentiment becomes even more relatable. Although… I don’t think I would’ve been mad if Jon Randall handled a verse.

And despite their comments at the end, it’s flawless. Perfectly imperfect.

Featuring 13 new songs including the new “In His Arms,” as well as new versions of “Tequila Does” and “Amazing Grace,” The Marfa Tapes are out on May 7th.
