Metro Nashville Animal Care and Control recently shared the heartwarming story of a Nashville veterinarian who was reunited with her missing pup who had been stolen from her yard 13 YEARS ago.

According to the post, a good samaritan found the dog wandering around a few days ago. After trying to find the owner with no success, he was brought to Metro to be scanned for a microchip.

It was there that they found out that the good boy was a 16 year old named Connor who belonged to Dr. Karen Fox.

And here’s where the story gets crazy.

Connor had been stolen from Dr. Fox’s yard 13 years ago – and she hadn’t been able to find him since.

According to Dr. Fox, she was outside with 3-year old Connor back in 2008 when a truck stopped and snatched him right out of her front yard. She tried to flag the truck down with no success, so she started posting about him and trying to find Connor to bring him back home.

She didn’t have any luck – until now, 13 years later.

The shelter says that when the pair reunited, Connor immediately ran to Dr. Fox and began licking her face before settling in her lap.

WHY ARE MY EYES WATERING.

First of all, fuck this scumbag who stole somebody’s dog right out of their front yard. What a piece of shit.

But also – holy crap. Imagine going 13 years thinking your precious pup was gone forever, and then suddenly getting a call out of the blue that he’s been found. I can’t imagine how happy I would be all those years later. That’s why you microchip your pets, folks.

So I’m glad this story ultimately had a happy ending and Connor is finally reunited with his rightful family.

As Dr. Fox says, they have a lot of catching up to do.
