We’ve officially reached Walking Dead levels of anarchy in the Lone Star State.

While major cities like Dallas and Austin continue to battle the blizzard that has left a millions without electricity, heat, and even water, one small town Texas mayor has officially abandoned ship and declared it “every man for himself.”

And had he just said “we can’t help you,” that would be one thing, but former Colorado City Mayor Tim Boyd went even further, ripping his town a new asshole for whining about silly things like freezing to death.

He posted the following rant after handing in his resignation:

Here’s a few of my favorite lines:

“The City and County owe you NOTHING.”

“Sink or swim, it’s your choice!”

“Only the strong survive, the weak will parish (which he spelled wrong).”

“Get off your ass and take care of your own family.”

Colorado City is a small town of about 5,000 people between Midland and Abilene.

However, in a follow up statement, Tim made it clear that had already turned in his resignation and that his comments were made as a citizen, not the Mayor. He also adds that his wife lost her job over his post, and that his family is now being harassed.

Although something tells me that his “sink or swim” approach to enduring hardships like no electricity should also apply to internet backlash as well. I mean, if you can survive a blizzard with no power, you can survive the comments section, right?
