Kip Moore Tackles Divorce, Teenage Pregnancy & Responsibility In Hard Hitting “Man’s Gotta Do”

This one sent shivers up my spine.

In addition to the longtime fan favorite “Midnight Slow Dance,” Kip Moore added another new song as part of his Wild World Deluxe album, and my goodness this one cuts deep in all the right ways.

Stylistically smooth but edgy, Kip tells a coming-of-age story not often referenced in country: A boy needing to step up and deal with the situation in front of him well before he’s ready.

Written by Kip Moore, along with frequent collaborators Dan Couch and Westin Davis, “Man’s Gotta Do” tackles everything from dealing with divorced parents to teenage pregnancy, and even shipping off to war. It’s long hard look at the kind of real life situations that require a boy to grow up fast, and to be a man, whether he’s ready or not.

“Sometimes the ride don’t go as you planned
No matter how hard you try, it’s outta your hands
And sometimes life shows up long before you want it to
And sometimes a boy’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.”

And with it, Kip once again, proves why he’s one of the best in the business.
