More news in what’s been an insanely busy day in the country music world.

The positive and uplifting news came from TJ Osborne who today came out as gay, telling his story to the world as the country music community rallied around him.

On the other hand, it’s been nonstop news regarding Morgan Wallen and the inexcusable racial slur caught on video.

Just a bit ago, the Academy of Country Music released a statement regarding Morgan, saying they would remove him from this year’s awards cycle.

“The Academy of Country Music will halt Morgan Wallen’s potential involvement and eligibility for this year’s 56th Academy of Country Music Awards Cycle.”

“We have made his management team aware of the decision.”

“The Academy does not condone or support intolerance or behavior that doesn’t align with our commitment and dedication to diversity and inclusion.”

Full statement below, which details their plans for diversity training.

This comes shortly after the CMAs removed Wallen from its platforms.
