Whoops…

Subscribers to the Texas Alert system were caught off guard this past week when they were hit with a notification for an Amber Alert. This wasn’t your regular run of the mill Ambert Alert though, it was sent out in the search of a Chucky doll.

Yes, the one from the Child’s Play movie franchise. The first film released in 1988 and it was followed up with six additional movies.

The alert had the abducted child as Glen, who is the son of Chucky in the movie franchise and the suspect was a 28-year-old Chucky attached with pictures, height, weight, gender, and wielding a huge kitchen knife.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the alert was a malfunction of a test.

“This alert is a result of a test malfunction. We apologize for the confusion this may have caused and are diligently working to ensure this does not happen again.”

Someone from the Texas DPS has a sense of humor.

Next time you get one of those Amber Alerts on your phone check twice, you may have a missing doll near you.
