G is on his way to Washington.
Announced today during a virtual press conference, Garth Brooks revealed that he will be performing at Joe Biden’s Presidential inauguration ceremony this coming Wednesday.
Garth Brooks will perform at Biden's inauguration and tells reporters he'll bring a message of "love and unity" through song – although he won't give away his playlist.
(He said he likely won't sing "We Shall Be Free," because he sang that at Obama's inauguration.)

Garth also revealed that he was asked by Joe’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden.

Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez are also scheduled to perform.
Garth has had his fair share political drama this past year. On two separate occasions, Garth was blasted online for political beliefs that he didn’t even have. One time for wearing a BARRY Sanders jersey in Detroit, and more recently after he was asked by the Department of Health if he’d participate in a Coronavirus PSA. He didn’t accept, he was only asked, and somehow that turned into an official endorsement for President Trump.
However, for the upcoming inauguration performance, Garth says it’s not about politics, it’s about unity:
“In our household, this is not a political statement. This is a statement of unity.”
He also admitted that he’s a Republican, but this was about reaching across the aisle.
Garth Brooks on playing Biden's inauguration:
"I might be the only Republican at this place. But it's about reaching across and loving one another."

Garth played Obama’s inauguration back in 2009, and was asked to perform at Donald Trump’s in 2017, however due to a scheduling conflict he wasn’t able to make it.
