Tesla guy, eh?

At the very beginning of the pandemic, it was all hands on deck to protect Willie Nelson. I mean, the man is damn national treasure, but he’s also in his upper ’80s and has a history of respiratory issues. We had to protect him at all costs.

However, we officially can rest easy knowing that the great Willie Nelson, has finally received the COVID vaccine.

According to a Facebook post by Family Hospital Systems, Willie pulled up to their drive-thru vaccination center, near his home in Austin, Texas.

“Getting your COVID vaccine is Willie cool! Thank you Willie Nelson for helping Family Hospital Systems slow the spread of COVID-19! We want to encourage everyone to continue to get routine tests and signup for a vaccine. Family Hospital Systems drive through tests and vaccines are convenient and easy.”

The past year has been brutal for the country music community, with COVID claiming the lives of artists like Charley Pride, John Prine, Joe Diffie and more. It goes without saying that we want to get everybody protected from this awful virus, especially our country music legends. Any word on Dolly Parton? George Strait?

Willie also recently announced the release of his upcoming Frank Sinatra covers album, That’s Life, due out on February 26th. He was also named keynote speaker at the SXSW Online Conference this spring. He’ll be joined by fellow Texan Matthew McConaughey, Samantha Bee, Wyclef Jean and more.
