Welp, you knew this was coming.

After the Alabama Crimson Tide putting a hurting on the Ohio State Buckeyes, something to the tune of 52-24, fans took to the streets to celebrate.

Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox urged fans to stay home if the team won, but let’s be honest, that was never gonna work.

“As we get ready for the National Championship Game, and especially that night, we all have a role to play in keeping our community safe. COVID-19 has changed everything, including the way that we celebrate.

This weekend and Monday night, please continue to follow Alabama Public Health guidelines including wearing a mask and limiting gathering size as you cheer on the Tide. Thank you for helping us protect our healthcare system and your neighbors, and Roll Tide!”

And by the time the final whistle blew, fans were already packing the streets.

Needless to say, we are still in a pandemic and folks weren’t happy…
