“I Think I’ll Just Stay Here And Drink” was the second single from Merle Haggard’s 1980 album Back To The Barrooms. And while it has nothing to do with a global pandemic, divisive politics, or the overall shitstorm of America right now, it’s pretty much been the mood all year… just stay here and drink.
And 40 years ago today, it was topping the charts.
That’s the thing about great songs… they’re timeless.
