J.J. Watt Calls Out Teammates For Not Caring In Passionate Postgame Speech

THIS is why people love JJ Watt.

On and off the field, his passion, dedication, hard work, and leadership are second to none. Whether he’s in the gym, on the football field, or helping out a local food bank, you know he’s going to give it his all.

But with the Texas at 4-11 this year, it sounds like the rest of the team isn’t on board. After their 31-37 loss to the equally shitty Cincinnati Bengals this afternoon (without Joe Burrow), Watt blasted his teammates for not caring about the season anymore.

“If you can’t come in and put work in in the building, go out to the practice field and work hard, do your lifts and do what you’re supposed to do, you should not be here. This is a job. We are getting paid a whole lot of money. There are a lot of people that watch us, and invest their time and their money into buying our jerseys and buying a whole bunch of shit… and they care about it.”

Ultimately for Watt, it’s all for the fans who still care about this shitty Texans team, even when they have no reason to. If the fans still care, why don’t the players?

“They have no reason whatsoever to… we stink. But they care and they still want to win and they still want you to be great. That’s why. Those people aren’t being paid. We’re being paid handsomely. That’s who I feel the most bad for is our fans and the people who care so deeply in this city. It sucks as a player to know we aren’t giving fans what they deserve.”

RESPECT.
