Alan Jackson & Alison Krauss’ “The Angels Cried” Is An Underrated ’90s Country Christmas Song

Alan Jackson might be known for the signature stache, but that full beard? Come on with it.

Back in 1993, Alan dropped what is arguably the greatest country Christmas album of all time, Honky Tonk Christmas. And amid the boot stompin’ classics like “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “Honky Tonk Christmas,” he teamed up with Alison Krauss for an incredible duet of “The Angles Cried”

Written by Harley Allen and Debbie Nims, it’s one of the more sentimental songs on the album, telling the story of the birth of baby Jesus.

With Alan and Alison on the same track, you already know it’s going to be good, and then you got Alan with the beard, Alison with the high hair… damn, I love the ’90s.

Throw on a little Honky Tonk Christmas this weekend, you won’t regret it.
