Billy Strings Covers The Stanley Brothers’ “Stone Walls and Steel Bars” For ‘String The Halls’ Series

Day 2… let’s go.

It’s day 2 of Billy’s “String The Halls” 12 days of bluegrass series and we’re back with another Stanley Brothers tune, “Stone Walls and Steel Bars.”

Originally written by Ray Pennington and Roy Marcum, it was recorded by The Stanley Brothers in 1963. It’s also performed quite often by the great Bob Dylan.

Each day, through Christmas, Billy will release a new performance, and at the end of the series, the 12-song project will be available for purchase. There will also be a limited-edition event poster and selection of prints released each day as well.

All proceeds raised will benefit organizations dedicated to providing assistance to those in need including Musically FedNashville Rescue Mission and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

Yesterday, Billy kicked off the series with a cover of The Stanley Brothers’ ‘Think Of What You’ve Done.”
