I can’t get enough of this record right now.

Recorded last year, Willie Nelson American Outlaw is finally here. A tribute concert to the great Willie Nelson, the concert featured performances by country music super stars like George Strait, Bobby Bare, Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, Lee Ann Womack, Margo Price, Vince Gill, Jimmy Buffett, Steve Earle & more

Eric Church performed “Me and Paul” before joining Kris Kristofferson and Willie himself for a performance of “Me & Bobby McGee,” meanwhile Chris Stapleton took the stage for “Whiskey River.”

But then Chris joined Willie and guitarist Derek Trucks for a performance of the all-time classic, “Always On My Mind.”

Written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James, “Always On My Mind” was originally released in 1972 by Gwen McCrae and then recorded again that same year by Brenda Lee.

It wasn’t recorded by Willie until 1982, but went on to win multiple Grammys and CMA Awards, topping Billboard’s year-end singles chart that same year.
