Get Ready For Game Day With The Emotional Intro To The 2016 Army vs Navy Game

One of the best traditions we have in this great country of ours is the Army vs Navy game. These two rivals have met since the year 1890 to play the game we all love, college football.

Like many of our great sports traditions, it goes so much further than what happens on the field. It’s about the service men and women who fight for our freedom. One of the purest examples of this meaning so much more than sports was the 2001 Army vs Navy game.

In 2016, on the 15 year anniversary of the September 11 attacks, CBS paid homage to that memory with a tearjerker of an intro:

If that doesn’t get the blood pumping, I don’t know what will.

For the 121st time, Army and Navy will square off this Saturday at 3:00 pm. Navy is 16-4 in their last 20 meetings and lead the series 61-52-7 all-time.

In the evening, you may want to check out USC at UCLA. This rivalry matchup is big, as a USC win would put the Trojans in the Pac-12 title game.

10 games, including the Ohio State vs Michigan game were either cancelled or postponed until further notice. With the regular season winding down, there’s a ton of playoff and Bowl implications this week.
