What an all-star lineup.

Last year, country music super stars like George Strait, Bobby Bare, Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Lee Ann Womack, Margo Price, Vince Gill, Jimmy Buffett, Steve Earle & more came together to honor the great Willie Nelson for a once in a lifetime tribute concert.

Performing Willie hits from over the years, and teaming up with Willie himself, that night dubbed: Willie Nelson American Outlaw, also featured the first ever duet between George Strait and Willie Nelson.

We already showed you Stapleton’s cover of “Whiskey River,” but let’s take a listen to Eric Church’s cover of “Me & Paul.”

Releases in 1985, “Me & Paul” was the title track from Willie’s album of the same name, a tribute to his longtime drummer and friend, Paul English. Paul passed away earlier this year at the age of 87.

And later, Eric joined Willie and Kris Kristofferson for a performance of “Me & Bobby McGee.”

“Me and Bobby McGee” was originally written by Kris Kristofferson and recorded by Roger Miller 1969, although Janis Joplin’s version topped the charts a few years later in 1971.

Since then, it was recorded by Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, The Highwaymen, Dolly Parton and more.

Here’s a live video from that night.
