Josh Turner Covers Alan Jackson’s “Midnight In Montgomery” From AJ’s Good Time Bar

CLASSIC.

Written by Alan Jackson and Don Sampson, “Midnight In Montgomery” was released as the fourth single from Jackson’s 1991 record, Don’t Rock the Jukebox.

As a tribute to the great Hank Williams, “Midnight In Montgomery” tells the story of a man that meets the ghost of Hank in the Montgomery graveyard where he is buried. It only peaked at number 3 on the charts, but to this day, it’s still one of Jackson’s most popular songs.

Josh Turner recorded a cover of the tune on his stellar covers record, Country State Of Mind, and recently released a live performance video of the song as well. And in the ultimate tip of the cap, Josh performed the cover from Alan’s own AJ’s Good Time Bar in Nashville, Tennessee.

And of course, the Alan Jackson original.
