Relive Sturgill Simpson’s Entire ‘A Sailor’s Guide To Earth’ Concert From Apogee Studio

We’re approaching Thanksgiving 2020, and to be quite honest, I’m not even sure of the last live show I attended. More than anything, I was hoping to see Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers this past spring, but COVID happened, and now here we are…

And while some artists have performed live streams, some have tried their best to host socially distanced shows, drive-ins, etc… I keep finding myself digging back into old concerts on YouTube. It ain’t much, but it’s honest work.

And today, I stumbled upon this gem from back in 2016.

Sturgill Simpson performing his entire A Sailor’s Guide To Earth record for KCRW, live from Apogee Studios in Santa Monica, California.

Of course, the record would go on to be nominated for all-genre Album of the Year at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, winning Country Album of the Year.

Good shit.

And don’t forget his bluegrass concert live from the Ryman earlier this year.
